Last week was a very hectic week! (just three days in specific) Sec 3s, except Express were engaged in the elective molecule programme in school. Colleen, Jaslyn and I chose the course "Culinary Skills". We had fun on our 1st day. Yes, we cooked and had to finish what we cooked (ate ate ate till we almost burst!) Unfortunately, Jaslyn fell sick on that very 1st day... and, both my tissue packets were used up in half a day. But she managed to pull through the day(:
The next day, Colleen & I survived without her. We indeed had a lot of fun and laughter. We even laughed at our own mistakes. How I wish I could take photos of the flat biscuits which we broke into a fit of laughter (completely uncontrollable!!) ): Colleen put the wrong type of sugar in the bowl. (won't blame her for that). I only checked to see whether she weighed it correctly. I didn't check what type it was. Aiyoh, me. Therefore, the biscuits turned out TOTALLY flat on the tray. KL saw it and ATE it. What mattered most was, it was flavorful. (: After our 2nd attempt, we succeeded in making these beautiful biscuits. It was more delicious than the 1st!
Final day, Colleen told me that she wouldn't be careless. I decided to reverse our duties. I took over gathering all ingredients, weighed them accurately. She did the preparation, cooking & washing up. We were a great team!
After the clean up, we went to the classroom to watch a very inspirational video. The coach used many encouraging phrases like - "You can do it", "Give me your best", Keep going'', "Come on", "30 more steps", etc to the footballer. He was crawling on the field with his feet not his knees piggy-backing another footballer on his back. He was blindfolded and only relied on his coach shouting at him to press on. Check it out on Youtube "Facing the Giants".
The day went very well. We enjoyed tasting our new dishes. I tried most of my dishes!! The picture on the top is what we served to our teachers. These dishes were so inviting that all of them gathered to the canteen their jaws dropped!
