Given an awesome weather today, I was game for a jog with Vanny. Unfortunately, I decided to cancel as Vanny had just finished her meal. ):
As we started walking to the swing area which was further away from my home. The only two swings we found last year, seemingly the only swings in Simei. We went there in the hope of swinging but the area was filled with a lot of residents. ): Guess we were too late.
So we decided to take a walk towards Tampines. There was a quiet bridge that led us over the road from Simei estate to Tampines estate. I took the photos of Vanny along the way, using her iPhone. We reached the other side of the bridge and were brought back in time. Vanny first recognised the place and told me that we actually went there before. I forgot, but remembered only till she told me the stories of what stuff we did there last year. I remembered helping Vanny with her Art and a bit of tuition when she was in BHSS. Beautiful memories!
Back to today, we continued walking further into a jungle of HDB flats. I remembered myself checking if we were really in Tampines. I checked the block of the flat I was standing the nearest to, and it stated "Blk 284, Tampines".
We spotted a playground in between the flats. We headed towards it only to find the same kind of people chilling and playing there again. Sigh. We then walked further and photographed ourselves before heading home.
The only one thing I regretted was that I didn't bring my camera along. But since it was night time, it was okay not to. (: We plan to continue our journey of exploring in the afternoon next time. YAY! Can't wait!
Anyway, really a blessing to have her as my neighbour. I should be grateful to her for she helped me appreciate Simei more. After five years of getting to know her since I was in secondary two, I started to explore more areas in Simei besides my home with Vanny. I never knew there were swings. I thought the swings no longer existed!!! But it DOES exist! (: I never knew there were cool parks besides my small park. I never knew these things till I met her. Simei is now like a playground to me, and it is no longer called "Boring Simei" like I used to. THANK YOU, VANNY!
