A talk given by my parents

NIE invited my parents to give a talk to teachers. They were asked to share their experience in nurturing me and my education challenges.

Back at home, Daddy told me that the sharing went very well and the teachers felt encouraged. He brought back a note (addressed to me) handed to him at the end of the talk by a young lady teacher. She told him that she was touched by my story.

Awww, her nice hand-written note brought a smile to my face.

Looking back, my parents have been my 'teachers' in my studies, attitude, discipline and grooming. They have also watched how I grew more independent and confident through my education, trials and activities.

One event that I fondly remember is learning how to ride a horse at Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). It was one of my best primary school memories. I was afraid to ride at first but soon rode confidently at the end of the course. (: Every time I approached the horse I had to pat it so as to allow it to recognize my smell. Speaking of riding, I miss it a lot.

Thank you parents for loving and nurturing me with your constant support and encouragement, leading me to where and who I am today. (:
