Today, I celebrated the end of my first semester with mummy and my two good male classmates, asking them what they will do during holiday (they answered, "SLEEP!"), and then with my bestie, topped off with a movie, 3 Peas in a Pod then some catch-up.
Looking back, LASALLE has been an awesome and unforgettable journey. Time flies! I have met good bunch of classmates and lecturers. They have offered help from time to time and I am so grateful to have them! And, the lecturers are hilarious man!!!
Here I sit, realising I have nothing else to do but to sit in front of my laptop. The workload has finally been emptied. I feel empty too. I feel as if time has also slowed down. The day is dragging slower than usual when it is not. I kinda miss the days I rushed to finish every single assignment. Becoming into an extreme nocturnal person in no time once LASALLE begun.
While studying there, I see art in me grow. I started to understand more about Art. I started to see Art differently. I started to appreciate Art the right way. There is more than just saying "Wow, that artwork is amazing!", "Genius", etc. I started to study the methods they used. I began to be like them. The artist behind the works. I started to hear good comments I have never heard when I was young. I never know Art still exists in me after all these Art-unrelated years after I left my primary school.
Through LASALLE, I have discovered new strengths and weaknesses. I used to think doing big drawings are tiring. I would not have known it was enjoyable till I tried. I actually tried pointillism portrait of an old man, full of wrinkles. And, it was almost a regrettable decision but I did it in the end! What kept me going was repetitive vibrations echoing every second I hit the pen on the paper. Grateful, it claimed a place for LASALLE Open House exhibition! Indeed, it helped me score well!
In addition, ink drawing portrait, clay model of my face and 3D sketchbook are selected!! I was quite surprised, considering this being my first semester yet I have achieved so much. To be very honest, I am kinda upset that they did not select pen and charcoal (especially this one!) portraits of old men which I love so much! Maybe the methods I used to shade is too common. Maybe the background of my charcoal portrait was too white. Pointillism is a rare method students use. That was why my pointillism portrait got in. Nonetheless, I am very elated that they will be up during January exhibition!
These three artworks have been selected plus 3D sketchbook

I just cannot wait for my second semester!!! I bet it will be more fun, as it will be focusing more on my specialism module. Let's just ignore the works awaiting me!!
