He leads the way

Two days ago on 14th Dec, I went out with Dave. Again!

I did not know that we were shopping CUM cafe-hopping. Blame on my mummy for pretending to be me when texting him without me knowing. He told me not to bring my camera. I only knew that I was just accompanying him on his shopping spree at Bugis Street, one of his top favourite hang-outs for clothes. And he actually offered to buy me a grey crop shirt as my birthday gift. (: Thank you, Dave!! I never have a light grey shirt in my cupboard. In my mind, I was running through many pants whatever length they are, trying to see if there are any to match my grey shirt. Thankfully, there are plenty to match, including the jewelleries mummy recently bought for me!

Around an hour later, we took the bus down to Toby's Estate cafe. Did not know why air-con was not switched on. Maybe in preparation for the closing time? We decided on just two cups of coffee. There were no food selling or because they were closing for a night thus, just drinks alone. My cup of Mocha's bitterness was a little more than what I could take. $6. If I were to order decaf, it would be $7. The timing was around 4pm, not a good timing for coffee, especially those who end up wide awake at night which is me. But I had to close one eye because of tight budget. Once mocha arrived on the table, I noticed the uniqueness in their latte art. One of the most beautiful designs!

You know what I did next? Click, click, click!!! This time, I tried not to use flat lay angle. It has become a boring angle to me. It is not easy thinking of different angles every time you take out your camera in preparation for some decent shots.

Yeah, I was using his Olympus camera the whole day. Every time I use his camera, I am always excited. I am always looking forward to what his new camera can do even though it is not a prime lens yet. I now very much appreciate wide lens and for its capabilities of capturing the surroundings and exterior surroundings. Every time I use it, I learn a thing or two. Guilty as I am, I often forget that it is NOT my camera but his! It is like a new camera I just bought. It is lighter than my camera. I think Olympus is a good brand. One thing I dislike is how the camera shakes very slightly when I click. My camera is more stable! So I have to really, really steady my hands and pushing up shutter speed for better stability when using his.

Photography aside, we went to P.S cafe. When we made an entrance, I was swept off the floor with the ambience, the utensils, shiny wine bottles, seats and colours of the exterior design. A big Christmas tree was not one to be missed! I went on a solo quick tour around the cafe, clicking away, leaving poor Dave to wait for Lasagna to be served.

We ate. We talked. We laughed. I am so glad we made the right decision to share Lasagna (it tasted different from the usual yet acceptable) and fries. In fact, I somehow surprised myself by picking fries and bringing them to my mouth. I do not eat fries! To be more specific, I CAN eat them but not when they are too crispy. I was trying to help Dave finish it. P.S cafe pricing is quite steep. But food are worthy coming for second serving. The place is quiet at night. Nice and dim ambience. Yellow ceiling lights. Warm and classy. Its temperature was nearly perfect. A little like a candlelight dinner. I was already missing mummy, wishing she was with us. Because I think she would like the ambience as well. And she would have been very delighted to bump into one of her closest friends there.

The only regret is that I should have dressed better that day.

One more day to my birthday.
